Liithos is a new development team made up of Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin, two PlayStation Venterans. Mumbauer was the head of PlayStation’s Visual Arts where he worked on various projects, including Uncharted, The Last of Us and Days Gone. Garvin is instead the creative director of Days Gone and Siphon Filter.
Lithos is working on a new game known as Ashfall which is described as the “first true AAA Web 3.0 for PC, console and for the Hedera network”. In other words, it is a new blockchain game.
Ashfall is described as an open-world game set in a land ravaged by global warming, mysterious energy fields and warring enclaves. It seems to start out as a story-driven single player game, but then evolve into a PvP and PvE game. Ashfall will also connect to the Hedera network, a blockchain system that will allow players to build, sell and trade, with an eye to “exclusivity”. This word suggests that Ashfall’s elements of exploration and discovery translate into NFT.

It also appears that the Liithos team is interested not only in the blockchain, but also in something called “film transmedia world“It appears that Mumbauer and Garvin intend to work on more than just a video game, as the company has been announced as the” AAA Gaming and Entertainment Studio “.
“Michael and I have been working together creatively for nearly two decades and this is our chance to create something really new and exciting. It’s like putting the band back together,” he said. Garvin in a press release. “Our goal is to create a next-generation open world experience that builds on new technologies to enable the creation of user-generated content. As always, our focus is on creating beloved characters, compelling stories, evolutionary gameplay and a world worth exploring, not just in games, but in other media as well. ”
Square Enix also makes “story-focused” NFTs, but Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy are out of the question.
