Yesterday, the six-episode Obi-Wan Kenobi miniseries officially concluded on the Disney+ streaming service. Despite mixed reviews, many viewers are wondering if there will be a sequel?
In an interview ET show director Deborah Chow and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy discussed a potential second season, which, in fact, is not in the plans and never was.
We originally conceived the show as a mini-series with a big story that has a beginning, a middle and an end. We didn’t think of anything else. If we decide to continue, it will require a good reason.
Deborah Chow
Kennedy was not so categorical, but noted that they would think about the second season only in case of the necessary reaction and desire of the fans.
To be honest, we were really going to make Obi-Wan Kenobi into a mini-series. But I think that we will definitely take into account the involvement of the audience and the request for continuation.
Kathleen Kennedy
Earlier in the network there were already rumors about work on the second season of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series – the authors of Making Star Wars wrote about this. There was also information about a spin-off dedicated to Riva. What of this is true and what is fiction, we will find out sometime later.
