Announced with a trailer at Sony’s March State of Play, Valkyrie Elysium has been classified by the Classeção Indicativa, a Brazilian body that deals with the evaluation of video games.
The new chapter in Square-Enix’s JRPG series has received the classification linked to the PC versions, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, platforms on which we will see the title land. Unfortunately not many details have emerged, however this could be an encouraging sign ahead of the possible announcement of the launch date. When a stock is classified, in fact, it is usually well advanced in development and is now close to its debut on the market.
Developed by Soleil and confirmed for 2022, Valkyrie Elysium is described by Square-Enix as a spin-off of tri-Ace’s acclaimed Valkyrie Profile series. The combat system will be in real time rather than turn-based, exactly the same change of direction that took place with another Square-Enix JRPG, Final Fantasy XVI. The title will offer a variety of approaches to combat, with the possibility of taking advantage of magical abilities as well.
While waiting to find out more, and in the hope of receiving a definitive launch date soon, we refer you to our Valkyrie Elysium Preview for all the further details on the new chapter of the Square-Enix series.
