Sometimes in life what belongs together just comes together. Now, with Days Gone director Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin, two PlayStation veterans have joined forces to found a new development studio. They also announced their first project in the form of “Ashfall”. A first teaser can already be seen:
But let’s start from the beginning: Michael Mumbauer and John Garvin are no strangers to the video game industry. Mumbauer used to be the head of PlayStation’s visual arts department and worked on titles like Uncharted, The Last of Us and Days Gone. Garvin was creative director of “Days Gone” and “Syphon Filter” at Sony Bend Studio. So both should have enough knowledge of large, open game worlds and gripping storytelling.
And it is precisely this experience that is apparently being incorporated into the first project of their newly founded developer studio Liithos. This listens to the name “Ashfall” and sounds very promising. So it starts out as a single player experience, only to morph into a PvP and PvE experience. NFT should also play a role when trading is carried out with each other via the blockchain system. According to the makers, a next-generation open-world title is coming our way – let us surprise you.
So far, of course, it is unclear when “Ashfall” will appear for which platforms. However, we predict that a few moons will pass before the release.
