Hello Games has recently announced that the release date of No Man’s Sky for Nintendo Switch is set for October 7, 2022. However, it seems that the game will be “a single player experience“at launch.
Even more precisely, it is explained that it will include all major updates already published on other platforms and that it will continue to receive post-launch support. It will support touch controls and can be played in portable mode or in TV mode. However, there is no mention of multiplayer. No Man’s Sky in the Switch version could receive access to multiplayer after launch, but for now we are not sure.
Considering that No Man’s Sky, over the years, has increasingly strengthened the side multiplayerit could be a major limitation for some Nintendo Switch players and it is certainly important that you know before purchasing.
No Man’s Sky
It is possible that the lack of multiplayer is due to technical limitations of Nintendo Switch, which would not have been able to handle the shared on-screen action of multiple users. We hope that a way to support multiplayer will be found after release.
Finally, here are the details on the 3.093 update coming soon.
