There were many questions about the quality of the release version of Cyberpunk 2077, especially on older consoles: players complained about critical bugs, poor optimization, and gameplay bugs. Perhaps it was as a test.
The Upper Echelon Gamers channel claims to have received CD Projekt internal documents regarding testing of Cyberpunk 2077. The main testing of the game was allegedly handled by contractor Quantic Labs.
And here’s another story
There have been a number of issues with external testers, according to Upper Echelon Gamers:
- CD Projekt has set a daily quota for the number of bugs it finds. To beat the quota, Quantic Labs employees sent a lot of reports of minor bugs.
- The contractor overstated the number of employees to keep the contract with CD Projekt.
- Quantic Labs claimed that experienced testers are testing Cyberpunk 2077. Actually, it wasn’t.
In the Upper Echelon Gamers video, the received documents are quoted, but the documents themselves are not made public and are not shown in the video itself: only blurry fragments are shown in which nothing can be made out.
Forbes journalists asked CD Projekt and Quantic Labs to comment on the Upper Echelon Gamers information. The companies have not yet responded to inquiries.
It is interesting
In Cyberpunk 2077, the FSR 2.0 upscale was transferred: the frame rate in 4K doubled, the picture almost did not deteriorate
