CCP Games announces the launch of the AIR career program today. It is the next level of the new gaming experience for “EVE Online”. The AIR career program teaches aspiring capsuleers the fundamentals of EVE’s four career paths so they can quickly begin to become self-sufficient in New Eden. CCP has also started releasing updates to the Career Agent’s missions and making graphical improvements to further modernize the MMO.
The AIR career program introduces newcomers to EVE’s core careers – Explorer, Industrialist, Enforcer, and Soldier of Fortune – to determine which best suits their interests and playstyle. The AIR career program helps master the basics by providing a list of recommended activities based on one’s experience level. Activity progress is tracked and rewards are awarded for completing tasks. Information boards with instructional videos, UI hints and navigation guides help capsuleers reach their destinations.
The first phase of updates to Career Agent Missions begins today with the visual overhaul of all dungeons and environments. Fans who aspire to the Enforcer career can also enjoy a streamlined agent conversation window and helpful hints and highlights in missions to help them learn the tasks. Updates to the Explorer, Industrialist, and Soldier of Fortune missions will be available at a later date.
“The AIR career program not only provides newcomers with a wealth of information, but also actionable goals to help them understand the role each career path plays in the player-driven economy of EVE. It is important that our new players explore the career paths of Getting to know EVE early on in their intergalactic journey so they can develop a solid plan to support themselves on their journey through New Eden.”
Bergur Finnbogason, Creative Director of EVE Online
The next set of graphical and UI improvements are now available in EVE Online as part of CCP’s “EVE Evolved” initiative. It features higher visual and audio fidelity throughout New Eden with improved textures, higher-resolution nebulae, improved cloud art, and retuned ship engine sounds. Players can also enable compact mode for the Photon UI feature, which compresses selected windows and allows more on-screen information to be displayed for D-Scan, Chat, Fleet Windows, People and Places, and more.
