Bandai Namco forms new company with current developer of Ace Combat 8.
The publisher Bandai Namco (Elden Ring, Tales of Arise, Scarlet Nexus) is founding a new company in cooperation with the developer company ILCA (derived from “I Love Computer Art”).
ILCA may be familiar to those who know the POKEMON series: they worked on the remakes of the Diamond and Pearl games (“Shining Diamond” and “Shining Pearl”). They are currently involved in the development of Ace Combat 8.
Under the name of Bandai Namco Aces aims to better meet the new demand for high-quality video games.
- “With the recent remarkable growth in the global gaming market, there is a growing demand for more high-end games. In order to exceed these expectations, we decided to create a new company to increase our capacities”.
The focus should be primarily on “hyper-photorealistic” games, it says on the company website.
The games are intended to “deliver high-quality content that offers depth and long gameplay to fans around the world”.
How this foundation affects the ongoing development of Ace Combat 8 is unknown. The cooperation with ILCA and the use of the Unreal Engine 5 were already known for the current development.
