Fireshine Games has revealed that Core Keeper, a sandbox adventure game, has sold over 1 million copies since launching on Steam Early Access earlier this year.
The incredible sales milestone comes shortly after the launch of the first major content update for The Sunken Sea, a massive new update that introduces a brand new marine biome filled with new aquatic enemies, loot and locations to discover.
The underground indie hit previously set the record for Fireshine Games’ best-selling digital game of all time, selling an incredible 100,000 copies within its first two days of launch.
“We are very grateful to the Core Keeper community for their love of the game and for their help in bringing Core Keeper to more and more players,” said Sarah Hexma, Chief Marketing Officer of Fireshine Games. “We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive feedback since the Early Access launch, and we can’t wait to share our future plans for exciting new content updates for the game as it continues to grow.”
Core Keeper is a 1-8 player sandbox adventure set in an ancient cave full of creatures, treasures and trinkets. Get relics and resources to build your base, create new equipment and survive. Defeat giant monsters, discover hidden secrets, grow crops, fish, cook new recipes and explore the procedurally generated underworld to unravel the mystery of the ancient core.
