Taiwanese industry publication DigiTimes reports that Apple has cut orders for the iPhone 14 ahead of the expected launch of the new smartphone series in September.
According to the publication, Apple’s main chip supplier, TSMC, is facing a sudden downturn in workload as three major customers cut orders – AMD and NVIDIA are tightening their belts, and Apple has cut orders for iPhone 14 processors by 10%.
It is worth noting that the mass production of the iPhone 14 series has already begun, but, apparently, now the company will ship not 90 million units of devices, but ~ 81 million.
The publication also cites a decline in demand for consumer electronics, which is expected to worsen in the second half of the year.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 14 series at a special event in September.
