In 2023, the market for processors and video cards for desktop systems is waiting for a drop in sales, according to the Northland analytical company. In particular, analysts predict a noticeable decline in sales from AMD.
It is expected that by the end of the year the company’s revenue from sales of processors and video cards will decrease by about $675 million. The drop in sales is due to a decrease in demand, and not to a decline in chip production.
On the scale of AMD, the drop will not be very large: CPU revenue will decrease by 6%, GPU revenue will decrease by 7%. At the same time, analysts predict an increase in sales of consoles by about one and a half times.
AMD’s console chip revenue could rise from $740 million to $1.14 billion. Basis for forecast: Statistics showing that by the third year of release, sales of consoles will triple compared to the first year.
It is noteworthy that Nvidia also allegedly predicts a decrease in demand for video cards in 2023. According to DigiTimes sources, the company is trying to reduce the GPU wafer production quota booked with TSMC.
