The Summer Games Done Quick annual speedrunning event raised $3.01 million for Doctors Without Borders, according to organizers.
The event, which took place in Bloomington, Minnesota, was the first in-person GDQ event since Awesome Games Done Quick 2020.
The next Games Done Quick event will be Flame Fatales, a women’s speedrunning event that will take place online from August 21-27.
Highlights from the summer event include WaifuRuns’ Halo Infinite speedrun, which ran for just under 90 minutes. By cutting through the world and using the game’s infamous unstable grappling physics, the player managed to fly through the game at an incredible pace.
As the event passed the $3 million mark, it ended with two Elden Ring speedruns. You can watch the moment the crowd watched live as the meter crossed the $3 million target below.
Games Done Quick events have raised over $40 million for charities around the world since their founding in 2010, including Doctors Without Borders, Prevent Cancer Foundation, Malala Fund, Organization for Autism Research and CARE.
