Jet Infosystems specialists decided to compare the Russian Baikal-M BE-M1000 processor and its American competitor, the Intel Core i5-10210U. The tests were carried out in several benchmarks, in all of which the foreign chip eventually outperformed the Russian one.
True, in some of them, for example, EntityFX Bench, the advantage turned out to be insignificant. But in the Dhrystone Benchmark tests, the domestic model is 2.5 times behind. In the Unrolled Double Precision Linpack Benchmark test – already in all 5 times. In the GLMark graphics test, both chips showed comparable results. However, the experts managed to find at least one test where Baikal still won – it was a subjective test of the speed of mounting a boot disk to a flash drive.
The “American” takes from 10 to 15 minutes to do this, while the “Russian” did it in just 2. This speed is explained by the number of instructions for different processors. Vaikal has fewer of them, so there are more resources for the task.
