Square Enix revealed new information about patch 6.2 called “Buried Memories” for Final Fantasy XIV Online during the recent installment of the Producer’s Letter LIVE. Among them were the latest details on the long-awaited game content called The Island Paradise.

Patch 6.2 is scheduled to be released at the end of August and will bring a wealth of new content, including the latest chapter in the acclaimed story, new combat challenges, system updates and more.
During the broadcast, producer and director Naoki Yoshida explained in detail what the island paradise promises and what adventures lie ahead. Players will build their own island paradise by gathering materials, constructing facilities, tending creatures, and more in this relaxing single-player content. No gathering or crafting experience is required. By completing various tasks in the island paradise, players can also earn an exclusive currency that can be exchanged for special items.
Yoshida also revealed what players can expect with the release of Patch 6.2
- New main scenario quests – The latest chapter in game history is being written.
- New side quests – Tataru’s big company is entering the next phase.
- New dungeon – The Black Court of Troy opens its gates.
- New exam – A new challenge in normal and extreme difficulty. More information will be announced at a later date.
- New eight-player raid – Pandæmonium: The Abyss awaits players on normal and epic difficulty. The Epic difficulty raid is scheduled to be added a week after patch 6.2 release.
- New dream exam – A nightmarish battle against Sephiroth in Arretur S1T7 is coming up.
- PvP updates – The second series of PvP Choke Stones and the third season of Crystalline Conflict will begin with the release of Patch 6.2. In addition to adjustments to PVP moves, Steel Wings will also continue.
- Other updates – Further revisions will be made, including job adjustments for PvE and PvP, updates to the Adventurer Passes, an expansion of the projection dressers from 400 to 800 slots and more.
Further revision of the main scenario
- The content helper will be expanded to include main scenario dungeons such as The Shroud of Snow and the Archbasilica.
- The Road of Destiny Trial will be changed to a single-player quest battle.
- The Royal Confrontation Trial will also be revised.
In addition, there were details about the content that will be added later in patch 6.25
- New side quests – Hildibrand’s cases again require a clear mind in patch 6.25.
- New orders to improve weapons – Players can obtain and upgrade Manderville weapons throughout the Patch 6.x series. These are unlocked through the Hildibrand’s Falls quest chain.
- New Tribal Quests: The Omicron – A chain of quests tailored for collectors and crafters.
- New Battle Content “Unsteady Vault” – The content formerly titled “Curious Vault” invites players to master dungeons of different difficulties. Starting with The Undercity of Sil’dih, these dungeons are for one to four playerslaid out inside. The difficulty of the opponents is adjusted depending on the group size. During gameplay, the branching path through these dungeons will change based on player choicesInside.
- A new path: Curious Vault – Highly difficult four-player content similar to Unsteady Vault areas, but with paths following a set course. The Curious Vault will offer a choice of two difficulty levels, each with their own unique rulesets and characteristics.
