In addition to the patent to make old accessories compatible with PS5, Sony is looking for a Software Development Engineer to develop “new emulators“capable of running legacy games for older PlayStation consoles on recent hardware.
The Japanese company is looking for a professional figure that it can take care of create emulation software to be able to use games from old platforms on PS4 and PS5, and perhaps on Mobile and PC, but there are still no certainties of any kind about it.
With the launch of PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, Sony has proven it wanting to give more and more space to retro games, at the moment, however, the emulation of PlayStation 3 (resolved through support for streaming games via the Cloud) and PlayStation Vita are missing. If in the first case PS3 seems very difficult to emulate, the portable console would seem to be easier to bring back to life (forgive us the involuntary pun) and it is not excluded that the figure sought may also take care of these two platforms, as well as optimizing the emulation of consoles like PS1, PSP, PS2 and PS4.
What do you think of it? Is PlayStation 5 destined to become a real center for retrogaming or is it too early to hypothesize such scenarios?
