Last week, Samsung confirmed that the now-defunct Galaxy Note will, from now on, “live in the form of the Galaxy S Ultra”. In other words, the South Korean giant will not release any more Note models and the S Ultra series will be its successor.
Looking at both terminals, this strategy makes perfect sense. After all, the S Ultra family has inherited the huge display and pen support from the well-loved Note series. But now there are news that the Galaxy S22 Ultra could also replace the Note in the hearts and purchase intentions of users.
According to the well-known leaker Ice Universe, Samsung projects that the annual global sales of the Galaxy S22 Ultra will reach 10.9 million units. Now taking into account that the most successful Note was the model 8 with 10 million units sold during the first year, it seems that we have a new favorite among users.
This is good news for the South Korean giant, especially considering that some market analysts point to a drop of more than 7% in the smartphone sales segment. If this projection is confirmed, Samsung can record numbers and values from 2017, a time when this market was at its best peak.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Arguments
Despite having been launched in February, the Galaxy S22 Ultra remains up to date with regard to its top specs. The European model has the brand’s proprietary Exynos 2200 chip inside, paired with up to 12 GB of RAM.
But perhaps one of its best arguments is the optics included. In the quad rear camera configuration, the model features a primary sensor of 108 megapixels, a periscope sensor of 10 megapixels, a telephoto sensor also with 10 megapixels and an ultrawide sensor with 12 megapixels of resolution.
It should be noted that the first three sensors have optical image stabilization and that the terminal is capable of recording 8K video. The front camera, in turn, registers 40 megapixels of resolution and the ability to record 4K video.
