According to developer Innersloth, a fix for Among Us’s matchmaking system is “in development”. This was in response to complaints that the social deductive game had too many servers dedicated to role-playing games, and there was no way to distinguish them from regular game servers.
User TheRealDarkloud, in a post titled “Almost ready to leave” on Reddit, made several complaints, while admitting that he was new to Among Us.
Why are 3/4 of the servers dedicated to roleplayers only? As a result, people who want to play the game are immediately kicked out of the lobby?.
The Innersloth developers have responded to some of these criticisms. As for the servers, the team says they understand the frustration of the players in this matter.
This is one of those cases where we want to fix public matchmaking. This is more of a challenge than just “putting people into the lobby at random”, but we’re working on it!.
Innersloth also confirms that the annoying O2 glitch, which apparently appeared after the April Fools update, is also “on our list of bugs” to fix. “The team is definitely working really hard to keep releasing fixes and content all the time,” she adds. “We want people to enjoy our game. We don’t want people to be dissatisfied.” The team is also working on creating a public support page to better report bugs.
