Actually, Rockstar is always happy to recycle its own brands – GTA 5 is currently the best example. In the case of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption, however, things are looking pretty grim.
Remasters of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption were apparently a topic at Rockstar, but the plans were then dropped. At least that’s what emerges from a Twitter post by Tez2, a well-known leaker from the communities of the two Rockstar games.
According to a reliable source with insight into Rockstar’s plans, GTA 4 & RDR remasters were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar decided not to pursue the projects.
As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind.

Concrete reasons are not given, but the leaker assumes that the negative reviews that hailed GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition could have been decisive. However, this does not quite fit the statement that the remasters of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption were swept off the table years ago and should therefore be pure conjecture.
Rockstar has not yet officially commented on the subject. Therefore, the leaker’s statements should be treated with caution.
