With Sunbreak, Monster Hunter Rise has received a major add-on – and this is already causing a sensation. Capcom has confirmed the first sales figures – and they are really impressive.
As developer and publisher Capcom has now confirmed, more than two million copies of the new expansion Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak have already crossed the counter. This mark was broken worldwide on the first sales weekend after the launch of the add-on, with which the franchise continues its success story.
The add-on for Switch and PC was only released on Thursday and has been extremely popular among fans of the original game ever since. Even the main game has opened up new groups of buyers just because of the add-on release and has now cracked the 10 million mark.
Translated, that also means that 20 percent of buyers of the main game have already grabbed the big add-on to expand their gaming enjoyment. The original title was still nine million sales in May, so it has come a long way since then.
In total, the franchise with all its previous titles has now sold 84 million copies. Monster Hunter World, which was released in 2018 and is responsible for 21 million sales, remains the most commercially successful. This is also the current all-time record for a Capcom title.
In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak you can expect a completely new region as well as new quest tiers, monsters and a new story.
