The Chinese manufacturer led by Lei Jun recently revealed the range of smartphones Xiaomi 12S with three new high-end mobile devices. Unfortunately, the brand has already confirmed that the trio of mobile phones will not reach Europe, remaining an exclusive to the home market, China.
However, we have something very similar to the Xiaomi 12S arriving in Europe from September 2022. As happened in 2021 with the range Xiaomi 11Talso this year we should have new smartphones Xiaomi 12T to renew the high-end portfolio of this quality/price brand.
The Xiaomi 12T range could reach Europe with MediaTek’s Dimensity processors
The information has now been advanced by Polish leaker Kacper Skrzypek through his Twitter profile @kacskrz, referring primarily to the base model. That is, the Xiaomi 12S may arrive in Europe with a new name, Xiaomi 12T.
In addition, the manufacturer must change the processors of these devices in order to lower the retail price of mobile phones. So, in this way, they should not compete directly with the Xiaomi 12.
Also, for the Xiaomi 12T the leaker points out the codename “plato”, while the “Pro” version, the Xiaomi 12T Pro may have the codename “diting”.

Regarding these smartphones, we also collected the testimony of the specialized publication xiaomi which accounts for the use of MediaTek processors in both smartphones. Once again, the overriding ratio will be cost containment and the need to maintain good value for money on devices.
In short, for the Xiaomi 12T we have the Dimensity 8100-Ultra processor, MediaTek’s most advanced high-end chipset to date. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 12T Pro is likely to use Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.
It should also be noted that the Xiaomi 12T smartphone has already received certification by the US FCC agency. That is, its global distribution is practically confirmed, although its release date is unknown at the moment.

For this high-end mobile phone, based on the aforementioned certification, we get to know its main connectivity. So we will have, for example, the Wi-Fi standard 802.11ax, 5G (7 bands), Bluetooth, GPS, as well as the IR port / emitter.
We can still point out the two memory and storage configurations, namely: 8 GB + 128 GB, as well as 8 GB + 256 GB of RAM and internal storage.
For the Xiaomi 12T Pro we have an AMOLED screen at 120 Hz with a variable rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. We can also count on fast charging at 120 W, cameras with OIS and 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM combined with 128 GB or 256 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
There is a possible Xiaomi foldable smartphone in development
Finally, according to the same leaker, Xiaomi will be working on a new folding smartphone with a 200 MP main camera. Apparently, this will be the new sensor from Samsung ISOCELL to integrate the Leica camera system.
At the moment we do not have more information about the device in question, but we consider its development likely.
