While Sony announces the release date of God of War Ragnarok, Square Enix announces the postponement of Forspoken for PlayStation 5 and PC. The game will not be released this year but will arrive in early 2023.
Forspoken therefore skips the date of 11 October, the new release date is set for January 24, 2023also on PS5 and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
Luminous Productions apologizes for this delay, the team needs more time to clean up, game development is complete but the team wants to make sure they provide players with the best possible experience. The decision has been made “in agreement with the partners“, a strategic decision to guarantee the game the best possible visibility. The studio will therefore continue to work on the polishing phase with the aim of releasing a game free of particular bugs or other problems that could affect its general stability.
The postponement of Fospoken was in the air, after the last presentation, many had hypothesized a postponement to 2023, a postponement which is now confirmed by the Japanese publisher. Forspoken will probably return to show itself at the Tokyo Game Show, even if at the moment there is no official confirmation about it, we will probably know more in the course of the summer months.
