Last week, a phenomenon we have been accustomed to for almost two years once again occurred in the UK: a PlayStation exclusive saw its sales increase in conjunction with the release of new stocks of PS5.
According to data provided by GfK UK, in the week ending 2 July Horizon Forbidden West’s retail sales grew by a staggering 94% thanks to the arrival in stores of new units of the PlayStation 5, a console which, although it is preparing to blow its second candle, continues to be the subject of discontinuous distribution and less than demand. The performance allowed Horizon Forbidden West to grab the second position on the UK weekly chart, behind the new entry F1 2022.

F1 22 did register at launch physical sales lower than those of F1 2021, but its performance can only be properly assessed when digital data is also disclosed. Returning to the work of Guerrilla Games, we report that today Horizon Forbidden West received Patch 1.17 with VRR and a new graphics mode.
