The Final Fantasy XIV community has often shown amazing creative feats, and today we’re seeing a brand new one.
Music producer, composer and YouTuber Alex Mukala has released a video of around 1,400 community members performing the theme song from the Endwalker DLC “Close in the Distance”. Additional special guests, including musicians and YouTubers, also joined in for the song, arranged by Mukala himself, along with Husky by the Geek.
This glorious crescendo of musical excellence is the result of months of work since the announcement Mukala posted on social media in February.
He dedicated the song to the developers of the game and those who work on it, in addition to the community itself. He also promised in honor of composer Masayoshi Soken and his courage to make sure that all video monetization proceeds go to “some good charities”.
It was recently revealed that Seokyun had been battling cancer since October 2020 and decided to continue working at the hospital. Luckily, he’s better now.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PlayStation 4, PS5 and PC.
