BlizzCon may be coming back soon. Because of the global corona pandemic the developer studio Blizzard Entertainment had to cancel its in-house exhibition in 2020 and 2021. Although there was a replacement event with BlizzCononline, it was far from capturing the charm of the original format. There will be no BlizzCon in 2022 either, it was from a new conception the speech. But now it’s coming the comeback at least within reach.
Then BlizzCon should return
the Los Angeles Times recently did an interview with Blizzard President Mike Ybarra, which focused on various topics. Among other things, it was also about BlizzCon and its possible comeback. Most Blizzard fans should certainly agree with Ybarra’s statements quite hopeful right, because the plans seem to be already underway: “We previously announced that we would be taking a hiatus from BlizzCon to reposition it for the future, but we want to bring it back as a live event where we have the opportunity to celebrate with the community. We recently had one Hired the new leader for BlizzCon, April McKee. She’s hard at work on a plan. We’re committed to bringing BlizzCon back in 2023.”
When exactly is the next BlizzCon scheduled to take place?
However, more details about the event do not seem to have been set yet, so there are currently no specific date for BlizzCon 2023. It can be assumed that Blizzard Entertainment’s in-house exhibition will take place again at the Anaheim Convention Center will be held. In the past, the developer studio has always used the event as a stage for big announcements, news as well as celebrations used with and for the fans. This is how Diablo Immortal was revealed at BlizzCon 2018, which has reached meme status to this day. Diablo Immortal itself is also in the crossfire of criticism.
