A teaser trailer for the crime mini-series Copenhagen Cowboy from Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, Only God Forgives and TV series Too Old to Die Young, has been released on Netflix’s YouTube channel.
In the teaser, made in the corporate style of the director, we are presented with the characters in neon light to electronic music. The neo-noir crime show centers on a girl named Miu (Angela Bundalovich) who comes face to face with the underworld of Copenhagen.
“Cooperating with Netflix and bringing this show to life allowed me to gain a new experience. I perceive the site not only as my partners in many future projects, but also as my friends. A new term was born: Netflix Winding Refn,” said the director, who hinted at further plans for cooperation with the streaming giant.
Copenhagen Cowboy will be Refn’s first project in 15 years filmed in his native Denmark. The show will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 9 and will be released on Netflix later this year.
