Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the new version of All Quiet on the Western Front, a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque.
The plot takes place in 1914-1918 – in the center of the story is the guy Paul Bäumer, who goes to the First World War, having experienced terrible horrors and losses there. Together with him, former classmates leave for the front, many of whom will lose their lives in battles.
The film was directed by Edward Berger (The Terror, Your Honor), starring: Daniel Brühl, Sebastian Hulk, Albrecht Schuch, Anton von Luke, David Shtrisow and others. The film itself was filmed in German.
The tape will first be shown in cinemas in Germany at the end of September, and on October 28 it will be released on Netflix.
The first film adaptation of the novel by Lewis Milestone was released back in 1930, receiving two Oscars in the categories “Best Picture” and “Best Director”. Then, in 1979, there was also a production for television, which was handled by Delbert Mann.
