As you know, the fate of the updated version of the cult The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the current generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series is quite complicated: an improved version of the game has been developed for a long time, but there is still no release.
It was planned to release an updated version before the end of 2022, and the public had a certain skepticism about this (quite justified, I must say), however, the head of CD Projekt Adam Kichinski made a statement that his company is still set to release The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PS5 and Xbox Series before the end of this year.
According to him, the release date will not be affected by the change of the developer studio: initially, the Saber Interactive team was engaged in the work, and in the spring CD Projekt took up development exclusively on its own.
Recall that the updated edition will be released not only on fresh consoles, but also on PC, and it will also include additions based on the Netflix series of the same name.
The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be sold separately from the original, and will be free for everyone who bought the game earlier on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
