The press service of VK Play clarified the situation with the availability of Atomic Heart in the Russian segment of Steam.
Site representatives confirmed at the request of GameMAG.ru that the PC version of the shooter, as announced yesterday, will be available for purchase only through VK Play in Russia and the CIS countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In the near future, the Steam page of the game in the countries listed above will no longer be available.
According to the clarification, the exclusivity of Atomic Heart for VK Play will allow millions of players to support developers, as well as not overpay intermediaries, engage in currency conversion and register other payment systems.
“Our main goal is to provide a comfortable user experience, as well as open a new page in history, ensuring the launch of Atomic Heart in Russia and the CIS at the level that this story-based game truly deserves.”
It is not yet clear whether third-party sites will sell keys to the Steam version of the game, as Buka recently did with Sony’s Marvel’s Spider-Man remaster, which is not officially available on the Valve store for Russian users.
