The Astra group of companies, the developer of the domestic operating system Astra Linux and other software, received a loan in the amount of 3.8 billion rubles. under the program of concessional lending launched by the government. The rate is 5% per annum, and the funds are planned to be used for further development of the Linux platform. How informs the Vedomosti newspaper, Sberbank will act as an authorized operator within the framework of lending.
The money is planned to be used, among other things, to adapt Astra Linux to customer requirements. The project provides for the import substitution of the client’s IT infrastructure and the solution of problems associated with the transition to Astra products from software from other suppliers. This is, in particular, the support of the equipment used, as well as the simplification of the development and installation of application software.
As part of the project implementation, Astra Group of Companies intends to form regional competence centers, increase the staff of technical support staff and implementation specialists. The company is obliged to return the money by December 31, 2026. It should be noted that the creation of operating systems of the Astra Linux family has been underway since 2008. Currently, Astra Group of Companies employs more than 300 highly qualified developers and technical support specialists.
