Over the weekend, New World faced something it hadn’t had to deal with in a long time: queues to get in. This, combined with the expected influx of new and returning players with the release of the Brimstone Sands update, forced Amazon Games to expand New World’s server capacity.
“Due to the increase in the number of live servers and ahead of the release of the Brimstone Sands update,” Amazon wrote in yesterday’s update, “we are preparing to open additional worlds to accommodate the influx of new and returning players.”
The new servers will be located in the most congested regions of the New World – Central Europe, South America and the US East. These regions will be untouched, completely new territories without any existing owners. Players can transfer existing characters to new servers or create new ones, but Amazon does not offer free transfers. Players must use the token to transfer a character, and all other transfer rules remain in effect. Each new server will support 2,200 concurrent players.
We highly recommend discussing with your friends or company mates to determine if you want to take advantage of these new servers or maintain dominance in your current world.
