Atmospheric stealth action

With the predecessor, the French developer Asobo Studio succeeded in creating one of the most atmospheric action-adventures of recent years. Now the escape from the Inquisition and plague rats finally continues for Amicia and Hugo de Rune. At gamescom we were able to play the sequel in detail and get an idea of the technical and game-mechanical innovations.
Our test for “A Plague Tale: Innocence” at the time was by no means free of criticism. Because the first, completely own game project from Asobo Studio (“Fuel”, “Microsoft Flight Simulator” etc.) was not entirely without weaknesses when it was released in May 2019. In terms of atmosphere, the action-adventure, in which we, as orphaned siblings, flee south from plague-stricken France in the 14th century, had a lot to offer and was able to mostly score with its stealth-heavy gameplay. The adventure of Amicia and her little brother Hugo is expected to continue with “A Plague Tale: Requiem” in October 2022. We were able to play the sequel in detail at gamescom in Cologne, but we also noticed a few weak points in addition to various improvements.
