Nintendo made a lot of announcements for the Switch at today’s Direct, and one of them was a remake of the platformer Kirby’s Return to Dream Land.
The remastered version of the game, with a deluxe tag in the title, will be released on February 24, 2023 and will offer local multiplayer support for up to four players, completely redesigned visuals, new mini-games, and a new ability that puts Kirby in a mecha suit that allows him to fire rockets, lasers, and strike strong attacks.
In Return to Dream Land, Kirby and his friends embark on an adventure to help Magolor, an alien who crashed on the planet Pop Star, return home.
The original game was released on the Wii in 2011. The release of the remake will be timed to coincide with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the series. Pre-orders open today.
