Salmon Run returns in Splatoon 3, allowing players to team up with friends in a horde-inspired mode. Players will receive weapons randomly and must destroy a bunch of monsters, collect their golden eggs and take them to the base in order to make it before the time runs out. One of the big improvements in Splatoon 3 is that “Salmon Run” is available at any time of the day. In previous Splatoon games, “Salmon Run” was only available during certain time periods.
How to play Salmon Run mode
To be able to play Salmon Run, Splatoon 3 players need to reach level 4 in online lobby matches. Whether players win or lose, they will still receive experience points for their level. Reaching level four is very important as it unlocks other features in Splatsville such as Tableturf card battles and the locker room.
Location of Salmon Run
The Salmon Run mode in Splatoon 3 can be played by quickly traveling to Grizko by pressing the X button to open the map. With the map open, approach Grizko and press A. This will instantly transport players to an area where they can play Salmon Run mode. If players want to walk to Grizko themselves, look for a facility with a large orange sign to the right of the Lobby. If players exit the lobby and face the stairs, look to the left – it’s hard to miss.
How does Salmon Run work?
Once players get inside Grizco, interact with the orange cooler to start the shift. The player will be attacked by several waves of salmon and the team must defeat them in order to collect golden eggs. After grabbing an egg, players can throw them into the egg basket to score points. If the limit is not filled, the shift will end; however, extra points can be earned if players work hard and collect more golden eggs before the time runs out.
Sometimes during the Salmon Run shift, super-powerful salmon – King Salmonids – appear. When they spawn, the Power Egg limit is removed, allowing players to focus on defeating the monster. Players can earn unique fish scales that can be turned in to unlock new work outfits, decorations, stickers, and banners.
