As announced in yesterday’s “State of Play”, “Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge” appears in a revised version for PlayStation VR2. The release will take place over the next year.
Future owners of the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset, which will be released in 2023, were also given various new announcements during the “State of Play” yesterday evening.
As those responsible at ILMxLAB announced, a technically revised PlayStation VR2 version of “Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge” is currently being worked on. According to the official announcement, the sci-fi adventure has been tailored to the strengths of PlayStation VR2 and, like the original, promises an immersive experience in a galaxy far, far away.
Functions such as the built-in eye-tracking cameras, the advanced foveated rendering or the 3D audio feature are used.
Brand new stories in the Star Wars universe
In Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, you take on the role of a droid repairman who crash-lands on the planet Batuu and is drawn into a far-reaching adventure on that fateful day. This leads the protagonist through interesting places in the “Star Wars” universe.
After completing special missions in the Cantina, players can become a Jedi in Temple of Darkness, train with their Padawan in The Sacred Garden, or take on the role of an Assassin in The Bounty of Boggs Meet. Droid IG-88 hatching.
