What would an atmospheric video game be without the right background music? An exclusive interview with Paul Ruskay, Audio Director, and Mike Skupa, Creative Director of The Chant, takes you behind the scenes of the cosmic single-player horror action-adventure, out November 3rd. The video also shows the not-so-conventional creative process behind the game’s music and sound design.
Players of “The Chant” can expect a musical atmosphere heavily influenced by the 1970s, including experimental electronic music composed and designed by renowned artist Paul Ruskay. Ruskay, who has been a leading audio producer of music and sound design for the video game, film and advertising industries for 26 years, arranged the iconic seventies vibes for the game, which is being developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter.
Fear triggers not only mental but also physical reactions in players, especially when playing a cosmic horror action-adventure like The Chant. What you can expect from “The Chant” sonically is a mixture of a homage to the classics of the 1970s and a fresh feeling of today’s spooky atmosphere.
