More water locations
The developers promise that Warzone 2.0 will expand the universe of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. “This Call of Duty technology was developed for next-gen,” the makers write, adding that they used experience from Modern Warfare (2019) and player feedback to implement it. The water fights that you fight in rivers, lakes and parts of the ocean should contribute to a greater variety of gameplay. In general, there should be more water locations in Warzone 2.0 than before. There are also new vehicles, including boats, the heavy chopper and light tanks. Optionally, you can customize the vehicle by skin according to your preferences. For the Open Beta of Modern Warfare 2 you can already unlock a vehicle skin with “Floor It”. At gas stations, you fill up the vehicles again – and make repairs if necessary.
The Shop und Gulag 2.0
In Warzone 2.0 there are also AI fighters on the map. Source: Activision The Shop also comes with new purchase stations in the Battle Royale shooter, where you can buy and upgrade weapons and equipment. You can choose, among other things, “Squadmate Buy Back”, with which you bring back fallen teammates into the game – also possible for the Gulag. There’s also news for the Circle. As the developers write, certain weather events, for example, can cause three circles that are considered a safe zone to suddenly appear. In the later course of the match, individual circles are reunited with each other. In the new Gulag, which you enter after a screen death, you are initially only on the move with your fists – in a “multi-level arena”. If you win the 2vs2 match (previously it was 1vs1 matches), you can re-enter the big battlefield. The jailer can also stand in your way. Place it to get a key and be able to leave the prison.
AI fighters and new DMZ mode
There are also individual AI fighters on the new map. According to the developers, it is up to you whether you want to engage them in combat or not. If you decide to fight, the AI opponents should definitely pose a challenge – and defend their country by all means. If you flatten a fortress, “impressive loot” beckons. Included is an item that allows you to get one of your custom Gunsmith weapons for free at The Shop. The “Extraction Mode” is also new in Warzone 2.0. In “DMZ” everyone should be able to play as they want. Collected equipment should also remain in your inventory and be used from match to match. More details, including challenges, rewards, and gameplay features, will be provided at a later date. Warzone 2.0 will be released for free on PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
