Palworld has confirmed that the game will be released on both PC and Xbox consoles. The news broke on the game’s official Twitter account shortly after a new trailer was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show.
“We’re also excited to announce that PALWORLD is also coming to XBOX Series X, S and Xbox One,” developer Pocket Pair confirmed. Palworld is scheduled to release in 2023 on PC via Steam.
The Palworld page on the Steam store confirms that this will be much more than just an open-world Pokémon game where your monsters can be armed with AK-47s. Palworld was dubbed “Pokemon but with weapons” shortly after its announcement last year, but it also features survival mechanics, base building, farm and factory automation, and online multiplayer.
The new TGS trailer shows the boss fights of Palworld, in which the player will have to fight against the powerful Pals, but unlike Pokemon, the player will not be just a passive spectator. You will directly participate in the battle, using an arsenal of weapons, and will be able to call on your team of friends to help. Some friends will have special abilities and may also be armed with their own weapons.
Palworld has improved a lot since the first trailer at Live Expo 2021. Improved graphics and lighting, new weapons (including the rocket launcher in the latest trailer), and new movement mechanics such as riding your pets or walking.
The game also generated a lot of interest with obvious comparisons to Pokemon, but not all of the publicity was good. Last month, Pocket Pair had to warn fans on the official Discord about a scam when victims were asked to participate in beta testing. Pocket Pair has confirmed that there are no such tests, and anyone who sends links to the Palworld beta test on Discord should not be trusted.
