In this Genshin Impact guide we will make an overview of the best builds for Dori and the characteristics of this character.
Version 3.1 of Genshin Impact introduced Dori, a 4-star Electro element character. In this guide we will take an overview of his abilities and explain which builds we believe are the best, with advice on weapons, artifacts and statistics to consider.
Dori is an interesting addition to the Hoyoverse action RPG roster and represents an alternative to Kuki Shinobu. She doesn’t excel at offensive power, but she is able to heal, regenerate teammates’ energy, and apply the Electro element to opponents with her Elemental Burst. Let’s take an overview of her abilities.
Talent overview and priority
Genshin Impact, Dori
Dori fights using claymores but you will rarely take the weapon out of the sheath, as she is a character who specializes in off-field support. The Elemental Skill consists of an electric bullet that hits the nearest enemy in the direction indicated, subsequently generating two additional darts (three with the Constellation of Lv. 1) that inflict extra damage. This skill does not have particularly noteworthy offensive potential but has a recharge time of only 9 seconds (even less thanks to the passive talent “An Eye for Gold”), so you can use it in the dead times of a rotation.
Dori’s kit mainly revolves around her Elemental Burst, which is very useful for healing and generating energy for companions. By activating it, she throws a sort of magic lamp in the desired direction, from which a “Jinni” (read, genie of the lamp) comes out and connects to the character on the field with an electric beam. When the link is active, various bonuses are activated: the character on the field recovers HP points constantly, with the heals that are directly proportional to the maximum HP of Dori; regenerates energy at constant intervals (from 1.6 to 2.5 points of Energy every 1.5 seconds depending on the level of the Talent), very useful for “recharging” characters with expensive Elemental Burst such as Arataki Itto, Yae Miko and Kamisato Ayato; deals Electro damage (15.88% up to a maximum of 33.75%) to any enemy that comes in contact with the Jinni’s beam every 0.4 seconds (but applies Electro aura only once every 3 seconds) .
The damage of Dori’s Elemental Burst therefore varies based on how long you will be able to keep enemies within range of the Jinni. In general, however, they are not particularly high as they scale on the Attack value, where the ideal for this character would be to invest in HP%. On the other hand, the treatments are more than discreet and sufficient to keep the companions alive while regenerating their energy. In this sense, the Constellation of Lv is particularly useful. 4 of Dori, which increases healing by 50% if the connected character has less than half the HP and increases the Energy Recharge value by 30% if she has less than 50% health.
However, there are also downsides to take into consideration. The most important is undoubtedly the high cost of energy, 80 points. Consequently, a rather high Energy Recharge is required, at least between 200% and 220%, even net of the passive talent “Compound Interest”, which regenerates up to a maximum of 15 points by hitting an enemy with the Elemental Skill. Another downside is that the ability only stays active for 12 seconds compared to a 20 second cooldown. Additionally, the Jinni-connected character is constantly plagued by Electro, which means that he could suffer the damage and effects of elemental reactions, with Overload (Electro + Pyro) being arguably the most annoying.
As you may have guessed, as far as the priority of Dori’s talent development is concerned, the ideal is to focus on the Elemental Burst and to a lesser extent on the Elemental Skill. You can neglect the standard attacks altogether.
Best Artifacts and Statistics
Genshin Impact, Dori’s Elemental Burst in action
Considering that Dori’s role is to support and heal the team with her Elemental Burst, we suggest you assign him the Noblesse Oblige set. The two-piece bonus increases Elemental Burst damage by 20%, which doesn’t hurt, while the four-piece bonus boosts teammates’ ATK by 20% for 12 seconds.
Alternatively, consider a two-piece mix of Emblem of Severed Fate (20% Energy Recharge) and Tenacity of the Millelith (+ 20% HP). A niche option but not to be overlooked is represented by the Deepwood Memories set: the two-piece bonus is completely useless for Dori, while the four-piece bonus reduces the defense to the Dendro element of the enemies by 30%, which could be useful in a team with characters who exploit that element, like Tighnari.
As for the main statistics of the artifacts to be used with Dori, for the “Sand” the choice falls on the Energy Recharge, given the high energy cost of the Elemental Burst. For the “Goblet” and “Circlet” we recommend HP% and Healing Bonus to enhance the healing for the team.
Moving on to the secondary stats, we recommend that you focus on Energy Recharge until you hit at least 200%, followed by Crit Rate (especially if you use the “Favonius Greatsword” weapon), Crit DMG, HP% and Elemental Mastery.
The best weapons for Dori
Genshin Impact, the Dori’s Elemental Skill
We know we’re repetitive, but Dori needs a high Energy Recharge to activate her Elemental Burst with each spin. For this reason, in our opinion, the best weapon to assign to him is the “Favonius Greatsword”. This claymore grants an Energy Recharge bonus of 61.3% and in addition critical hits have a chance (60 to 100% depending on the Refinement Rank) to generate elemental particles that recharge Energy.
The alternative is the “Sacrificial Greatsword” even if much lower. The bonus to Energy Recharge is only 30.6% and the secondary effect offers a chance (40 to 80%) to reset the cooldown time of the Elemental Skill, which is not particularly useful in the case of Dori .
Sumeru’s craftable claymore “Forest Regalia” is a good option if you use Dori on a team with a Dendro element character. Increases the Energy Recharge by 30.6% and also every time Dori activates the elemental reactions Quicken, Aggravate or Hyperbloom a “Leaf of Consciousness” is generated which increases the Elemental Mastery by 60 – 120 points for 12 seconds for the character who collects it.
Genshin Impact, Dori
As an Electro-type support character, Dori is suitable for teams based on the elemental reactions Hyperbloom (Dendro + Hydro → Electro) and Electro-Charged (Hydro + Electro). Furthermore, she is useful as a support for Eula to trigger Superconduct (Electro + Cryo) thus reducing the physical resistance of the opponents or in general paired with high-cost DPS in Energy Recharge and who remain in the field for a long time, such as Arataki Itto and Xiao. Here are some examples.
