Head of development of the collectible card game Hearthstone Dean Ayala in his microblog announced that after 11 years he is leaving his position and Blizzard Entertainment as a whole.
Last Saturday, September 17th, was Ayala’s last day at Blizzard Entertainment. What the developer will do next is unclear: in his Twitter bio, he is now “unemployed.”
“Hearthstone is an incredible game. To play even a small part in its creation is an honor I will never forget. Thank you to all gamers and especially to my fellow creators. I am proud of what we have built together,” Ayala shared.
Ayala joined Blizzard Entertainment in June 2011. In 2014, the developer became the game designer of Hearthstone, in 2016 he rose to the rank of lead game designer, and in February 2022 he received the position of director.
Who will replace Ayala as the head of Hearthstone development is not specified at this stage. In August, another major expansion was released for the game, Murder at Castle Nathria.
