Capcom has announced that the upcoming Resident Evil: Village expansion, Shadows of Rose, will officially conclude the Winters family story.
At the end of next month, Capcom will release “Shadows of Rose”, a story expansion for the survival horror title “Resident Evil: Village”, which will continue the story after the credits of the adventure released in spring 2021. Now director Kento Kinoshita has confirmed that this will be the final act of the Winters family.
A conclusion to a journey
Opposite to IGN the developer emphasized that the “Shadows of Rose” story is created to bring the Winters saga to a conclusion. Conversely, this would also mean that the future “Resident Evil” games will focus on other characters. Whether these will be completely new or well-known faces remains to be seen. Finally, Capcom will not comment on this.
The Ethan and Mia Winters saga began in 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard when they feuded with the Baker family. In “Resident Evil: Village” the consequences of the experiments that the Bakers carried out were dealt with. It was also revealed that Ethan and Mia have a daughter named Rose, who will be the focus of the upcoming expansion.
