Amazon announced the next-generation Fire HD 8 tablet. It will be available in two memory sizes, both with and without advertising, priced at € 114.99 / 129.99 (32GB) and € 144.99 / 159.99 (64GB). They will be available starting October 19th. The pre-order is available now. Fire HD 8 is “thinner and lighter than the previous generation, with 30% faster performance. Fire HD 8 offers users a premium entertainment experience, whether at home or on the go.”
The Fire HD 8’s screen is 8 inches (1280 x 800 resolution, 189 ppi) and is made of reinforced aluminosilicate glass. According to drop tests, it is twice as resistant to Apple iPad mini (2021 model). The battery offers up to 13 hours of autonomy. Full charging takes place in 5 hours using the USB-C cable and the included 5W adapter.
The Fire HD 8 measures 201.90 x 137.34 x 9.60 mm and weighs 337 grams. It has a 2MP front camera and 2MP rear camera, with 720p HD video recording. 95% of the Fire HD 8 packaging is made from wood fiber from sustainably managed forests or recyclable sources.
