After breaking several world records, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor reached an overclocked speed of up to 7.2 GHz.
In the CPU-z screenshots, we can see that the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor has been in the hands of various overclockers. The next-gen flagship was recently moved to 5.5GHz by AMD’s own XOC team, and now we’re taking a look at some seriously high overclocks.
As you can see below, the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor was overclocked to 7.247GHz on 1 Zen 4 core at 1.506V with LN2 cooling. The CPU also hit 6.5GHz across all 16 Zen 4 cores at 1.465V. That’s definitely a huge overclock now, and we can’t wait to see what kind of performance the chip offers when LN2 is cooled. In comparison, Intel’s flagship Raptor Lake processor, the Core i9-13900K, can reach frequencies of up to 6.2-6.3 GHz with a high-performance liquid cooling system and no liquid cooling.
