Cyberpunk 2077 is currently going through the roof and is experiencing a boom that hasn’t happened since the (unsuccessful) launch – thanks to the new update and the Netflix series.
Who would have thought that Cyberpunk 2077 would start again after the failed launch and the countless updates that followed? The game didn’t sell badly at the time anyway, but the technical problems were so massive that the game was even banned from the Playstation Store.
Now the game is experiencing a second spring that has it all. Not only is Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most popular titles on Steam with over 80,000 simultaneous players, according to CD Projekt RED, over a million players across all platforms are currently playing the game every day – more than ever since the launch. Both new and returning players are represented.
Each day of this week Night City has been visited by 1 million players, both new and returning.

However, there are plenty of reasons at the moment. With the recently released update 1.6, a number of problems have been fixed, and new content related to the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunner has come into play. The latter should also do its part to lure players back to Night City, because the series is apparently extremely well received.
In addition, one must not forget that the versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S were released in February, the game can sometimes be bought quite cheaply in sales and also not that many new games are appearing right now, not to mention the cool weather, that you prefer to spend at home at the console.
The announcement of the Phantom Liberty expansion, which will be released in 2023, should have rekindled interest in the game, even if Phantom Liberty will not be released for PS4 and Xbox One for technical reasons. By the way, on the PC the game will receive another update, as announced at the GTC by NVIDIA. This will implement a new RTX mode and DLSS 3 in conjunction with the announcement of the new RTX 4000 graphics cards.
