It is quite expected against the backdrop of the upcoming release of Radeon RX 7000 video cards and the decline in demand for the current Radeon RX 6000, AMD decided to lower the recommended prices for current generation cards, and the chipmaker scheduled the presentation of new cards on November 3rd.
The new prices have already entered into force in foreign stores. Video cards fell in price by 5-30%. The price of the pre-flagship Radeon RX 6900 XT fell especially noticeably – by $300 at once (from $1000 to $700). The insanely overpriced Radeon RX 6700 XT sank to an adequate $380, which is a 20% discount. The smallest discounts fell on the RX 6800 series, which fell in price by only $30-50.
In the case of NVIDIA, the largest price cuts were for older models, because, first of all, within the GeForce RTX 4000 line, the chipmaker released high-end cards. But with AMD, the situation is different, some kind of selective reduction in price. From this we can make an assumption that the starting lineup of the Radeon RX 7000 will be, if not extensive, then at least inexpensive AMD cards will be presented immediately.
