The developers of Genshin Impact recently announced a new feature for the game that is still in the works. Travelers in Teyvat will soon be able to engage in Genius Invocation, a permanent trading card mode.
In the last stream of the popular gacha game Genshin Impact, the developers announced a new persistent mode for the game. This is a trading card game, which is currently still in development.
There have already been rumors and supposed leaks about such a mode in the past few weeks. In the last stream, the developers confirmed this and gave a small preview of the upcoming in-game feature.
Collect cards in Teyvat
Genius Invocation is a virtual trading card game that can be played within the Genshin Impact game world. Different NPCs can be invited to a game. The character Cyno, who will be coming to Genshin Impact in the next update 3.1, is said to particularly enjoy playing Genius Invocation.
If you don’t feel like playing a game with non-player characters, you can also compete against your friends in the TCG. However, the developers emphasized that there should be no rewards for PvP games. Instead, the card game should be a casual PvE mode. The cards for “Genius Invocation” should also be earnable through gameplay and not subject to the gacha system.
However, players will have to wait a little longer for the new map mode. As the developers have indicated, the trading card game will likely not be added to Genshin Impact until Update 3.3, which is expected for December 7th, 2022:
Update 3.1: September 28, 2022 Update 3.2: November 2, 2022 Update 3.3: December 7, 2022
Before the release of the current update 3.0, it was announced that the next updates to the popular gacha game would now be shortened to a five-week cycle. Normally, “Genshin Impact” gets a new update every six weeks. With the shortening, the developers could react to the delayed release of update 2.7, which was postponed by several weeks due to the corona pandemic and the lockdown in Shanghai, where miHoYo is based.
