At the GeForce Beyond presentation, Nvidia paid the most attention to the flagship AD102 GPU. It is not surprising, because we have a real monster with 76.3 billion transistors, 96 megabytes of L2 cache and 18,432 CUDA cores. However, the Ada Lovelace family includes two more GPUs: AD103 and AD104. Today, detailed specifications of these GPUs have appeared on the Web.
The Nvidia AD103 and AD104 video cores are used in the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB and RTX 4080 12GB graphics cards, respectively. The first GPU has an area of 378.6 mm² and physically contains 45.9 billion transistors, and the second – 294.5 mm² with 35.8 billion transistors.
It is worth adding that in terms of the number of elements, the AD104 bypasses the flagship gaming GPU Ampere represented by the GA102 (28.3 billion transistors). Also noteworthy is the impressive volume of the L2 cache, which in the case of the Nvidia AD102 has grown 16 times compared to its predecessor.
