As the developer Derek Yu announced, the roguelite adventure “Spelunky 2” has been updated to version 1.26. It features full crossplay support and other improvements.
About two years after its official release, the roguelite adventure “Spelunky 2” was updated to version 1.26, which, according to the developer, includes a long-requested feature.
We’re talking about full crossplay support for all systems. Whether you own Spelunky 2 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, thanks to the new update it is now possible to engage in adventure mode and the arena with players to adventure on other platforms.
In addition to crossplay support, update 1.26 brings other improvements that are discussed in the translated changelog.
The update 1.26
Added missing developers and QA to the credits. Network synchronization improvements. Server-side latency improvements for low-latency sessions. Steam/XB1/XBX/Switch players can now play with PS4/PS5 players. Fixed abrupt rollbacks when a player disconnects from the game. Fixed input being repeated in a client’s new game after a host left the game. Fixed multiple desyncs in Arena mode causing different arenas to be played. Fixed several crashes and a deadlock that could occur when playing online. Fixed multiple desyncs in Volcana resulting in different world generation. Fixed clock drifting due to heterogeneous hardware performance when loading screens through bound deterministic clock synchronization. Fixed several game exit issues when playing online.
“Spelunky 2” is available for the PlayStation 4, among others.
