It has been reported that the Windows 11 22H2 update released this week may cause significant performance degradation in games on computers with NVIDIA graphics accelerators. The problem is expressed in the image freezing in gaming applications, sound stuttering and picture distortion.
“I experience insane stuttering in games. CPU utilization in games has dropped significantly, in some cases from 80% to 5%. Just got back to the latest update and my gaming experience has improved a lot,” wrote one member of the Reddit community. Similar messages appeared not only on Reddit, but also in other social networks, as well as on the Microsoft support site.
According to user reports on the Microsoft support site, many of them have experienced a significant decrease in CPU usage in games after installing Windows 11 22H2. Most often, the CPU load drops to 5%, which leads to a decrease in performance in games.
NVIDIA is reportedly investigating the issue, but there has been no announcement yet. At the moment, the only solution to the problem is to roll back the update and return to using the previous version of the operating system. Official representatives of Microsoft have not yet commented on this issue.
