The next-gen duo of Xbox Series X and S took console gaming to the next level, delivering a significant improvement over the previous generation. The little brother of the Xbox Series S delivers high performance and optimization at a reasonable price. The digital console is the ideal device for casual gamers.
According to the latest physical sales charts, the Xbox Series S outsold the PlayStation 5 in Japan last week. The main reason for the recent strong sales of the Xbox Series S is the offer of a 5,000 yen gift card, along with other initiatives to attract Japanese audiences to Xbox consoles.
Physical sales charts in Japan have finally been released, which announce good news for the Xbox Series S. In the week ending September 18, far more were sold in Japan than the PlayStation 5. Phil Spencer’s recent visits to Japan during Tokyo Game Show 2022 paid off , resulting in a significant increase in Xbox Series S sales.
The Xbox Series S sold a massive 13,211 units last week. Series S sales growth also dominated the PlayStation 5 in the week ending September 18. PS5, on the other hand, only sold 8,739 consoles. The PS5 digital version only sold 2,441 units.
Even the combined number of both consoles is not enough to compete with the Xbox Series S. These numbers are also higher than the Xbox Series X, which is usually rare. Series X sold less than 1,000 units for a total of 866 units. However, the combined sales of the Xbox Series X and S are still minuscule compared to the PlayStation 5.
