Certain devices can become iconic and authentic relics for collectors and it seems that is what is happening with the iPhone.
A 1st generation model of Apple’s smartphone has just been sold at auction for a millionaire price that exceeded 30 thousand dollars.

iPhone models are generally much more expensive than many Android smartphones. This is, in fact, one of the characteristics of iOS terminals that, over the years, have been setting benchmarks for premium segment smartphones.
The new iPhone 14 series has consolidated this rule with the cost of the cheapest base model starting at 1,039 euros and with the most expensive model reaching 2,149 euros.
These are high amounts that not all portfolios are able to spend. But behold, an iPhone model has just surpassed all expectations when it comes to price.
Last Sunday, October 16th, LCG Auctions held an auction in which the star of the event was a 1st generation iPhone. This model was intact in a sealed box and sold for $39,339.60 (or €39,943.50), about 65 times its original price of $599 (approximately €610).
LCG Auctions described the equipment as “one of the most important and ubiquitous inventions of our lives. This first-generation, factory-sealed example is in exceptional condition. Collectors and investors will struggle to find a superior specimen.”

And the person responsible for the winning bid took this description to heart and paid more than $30,000 to obtain it. It should be noted that the bidding started at 2,500 dollars, and from the final price, it can be seen that this was a disputed product.
Remember that the original iPhone (or 1st generation) was released on June 27, 2007 by Steve Jobs who, at the time, presented the device as a combination of “an iPod, a telephone and an Internet terminal”.
The model was equipped with a 3.5-inch screen, a browser and a two-megapixel camera. It was an immediate success.
After 15 years, the new iPhone 14 series is a “little” different. It has 6.1 and 6.7 inch screens, internal storage of up to 1 TB capacity and 48 megapixel sensors. Just to mention some of the specifications, in order to underline the evolution.
